-.6lb Feeling Full


After all the carbs I ate yesterday I'm feeling not super hungry this morning however I did eat for breakfast:
Bonne Maman Strawberry Preserves, 13-Ounce Jars (Pack of 6)
Wheat toast w 1TB light cream cheese and a thin smear of Bonne Maman Cherry Preserves.  3pt
Coffee w creamer 1pt
Applesauce 0pt
Banana 0pt

In case you are wondering - yes I eat allot :-)

Bonne Maman is my favorite brand of preserves and the price in the store is manageable when it's on sale.  Here are the ingredients:
Cherries, Sugar, Cane Sugar, Fruit Pectin, Citric Acid.  I purchase the Strawberry Preserves for the kids PBJ sandwiches.  I'm sure there are some lower sugar versions of Strawberry Preserves out there that don't cost an arm and a leg that have organic ingredients - I just haven't found any in my local store (unless we drive to Trader Joe's which is about 45minutes away :-(.

Before I had breakfast this morning I stepped on the scale and I'm a minus .6 lbs.  I was a little bit surprised based on how much food I ate yesterday ( I ate beyond the point of being full - not good even if I could eat the extra calories).  The interesting part is I did a pre weigh in on Saturday and I had a loss of 1.2lbs.  It is what it is and I'm not stressing about it.  I'm exercising and eating well 95% of the time so it all evens out in the end.  I have to live right?

Here is my food log from yesterday (I ate dinner for lunch.  I must say I'm slightly embarrassed on how much food I ate - I've always felt embarrassed at how much food I can eat):



 My Weight Watchers meeting is tomorrow evening so I'll see what their scale says at that weigh in.  Wish me luck!


Note: When it comes to working out and Weight Watchers I don't credit myself extra points for the exercise I do.  I figure I'm going to have to workout for the rest of my life so what better time than now to just accept that fact and keep it simple.

  1. 160.2 here's to only going down from here! I joined peertrainer, haven't had a lot of time yet this a.m. to browse the site. I woke up with what seems to be the beginning of a cold :( The kids had fever yesterday -- we are going to the pediatrician's today. :(

    So fun to catch up!!!

  2. Sonya, I always eat more than my husband does. For dinner, I always have seconds; he rarely does. He jokes that I am "eating for two" - because I am nursing. For the past 5 years, I've been either pregnant or nursing almost the entire time. Anyway, I never felt embarrassed that I eat so much... I really enjoy food, and it's all really good home-made food, so there's nothing to feel badly about.
    Keep up your positive attitude, your healthy eating, and your workouts. You are doing great!

Weight Watchers vs. Jillian Michael's

It's been a little over 3 years (January 2010) since I started my weight loss journey. I reached my goal weight in May of 2011 (135 lbs). Since then it's been a yoyo and my trend had been going up over the last several months. My current weight is 150 lbs (I was 155 but lost 5lbs over the last few weeks). 7 1/2 Weeks Post Op - 185lbs

It's been almost 8 weeks since my surgery.

I never thought I would see this day! The aqua therapy and physical therapy has paid off (as well as the surgery). My leg and back are pain free. Yesterday at my last physical therapy appointment I hopped, skipped, jumped and ran on the treadmill for 2 minutes! Pain Free!!! I never thought I would hear myself say the words: "I ran". My recovery time for this surgery was a lot tougher than the surgery I had last year. It feels like I can start to move forward.

Unfortunately during my recovery time for comfort I've done a lot of eating. When I was actively exercising/running I would get a runners high. I think that was a big help to keeping me on track with my eating. The endorphins gave me a comfort high. However when I feel stress and lack of control and running isn't an option I tend to gravitate to food. Food and the pleasure of eating it is something I can control. Healthy Boundaries?

Growing up I always felt like I had to 'do what I was told' or else. A lot of what I learned as a child in terms of relationship bonds and my place in the world is mirrored in my adult relationships. It's taken me many years to figure what my mirror is showing me both good and bad.

I'm guessing many woman (not all) have felt the pressure to conform to others expectations and at the same time not wanting to hurt anyone's feelings or risk being seen as uncooperative. The price woman have paid over the decades has been insurmountable. I think of the mom on Leave It To Beaver, and how woman either bought into or felt that's what they should aspire to. Later on in television was the Mary Tyler Moore Show. The show was about a single woman in her thirties working at a TV station. In the show she was portrayed as a strong independent woman who knew more than those she worked with. Many decades since then more women are in the workplace than ever and more are showing …
