Resolute

TGIF it's Friday and Fourth of July Weekend!  BTW if you are a SAHM or a Mom that doesn't have a lot of meaning.  There is no time clock and Saturday is the same as Monday (in the summer months) only you do get more family day trips in on the weekend and family time (and hopefully a date night in the mix somewhere).

My official weigh day is Monday morning as it has been since I started this journey (I figure if I weigh in on Monday mornings it will help keep me honest on the weekends with my eating).  Tuesday nights is my Weight Watchers meeting and my weigh in with them.  My plan for this week (since Tues night) is to eat my daily points and try to not use my extra points.  Why? you may ask.  Because I'm determined to lose weight this week for a second week in a row.  I'm tired of 'running in place' on the scale and I need to change that.  I've been 'yoyoing' up and down by 2 lbs for many, many, many, many weeks.

So what is my plan for this holiday weekend?

Lots and lots of veggies and fruits.

Here are a few things I'm making:
Black Bean Brownies

Cucumber and Red Onion Salad ( I will be modifying by using maybe 1tbsp of oil)

Until my weight day Cheers!

Weight Watchers vs. Jillian Michael's

It's been a little over 3 years (January 2010) since I started my weight loss journey. I reached my goal weight in May of 2011 (135 lbs). Since then it's been a yoyo and my trend had been going up over the last several months. My current weight is 150 lbs (I was 155 but lost 5lbs over the last few weeks). My goal is to lose the weight I put back on (20 lbs) plus an additional 5 lbs for a weight loss of 25 lbs in total. It's so hard keeping the weight off!! The strategy I'm now doing this time is different. I've decided to follow Jillian Michael's weight loss program instead of continuing on with Weight Watchers. I lost the 80lbs on Weight Watchers and the program served me well. It forced me to look at portion size, calories (with old points system), fiber, carbs, fat and protein (with the new points plus system).  It changed the way I looked at food. Instead of processed foods I focused on eating a variety of whole fruits, vegetables, legumes, grains and l

Sonya 'Lost It'

Well it's now after Christmas and before New Years as I write this post.  I have been on hiatus for a long time on my blog.  I've been spending some of my time thinking about what I was going to write. I have been through some difficult times starting back in late October.  What I am about to write is very personal.   I feel a little bit foolish for sharing this with everyone as most people don't share their 'business' never mind posting it in a blog.  My hope in this post is to not have people feel sorry for me but that readers get an understanding for my situation and also an understanding of others who are going through something similar. Taking a deep breath. I am currently being treated for depression and anxiety and I'm almost finished with an intensive outpatient program at a local hospital (thankfully it's an amazing psychiatric hospital about 40 minutes from my home). For those who are reading this and have either gone through a depressive

Mini Blizzards

Genius This Mini PB cup Blizzard is worth 10 Weight Watchers points plus vs a Small PB cup Blizzard which is worth 16 Weight Watchers points plus. Mini blizzards are great when you want something sweet on occasion but don't want to kill yourself with tons of calories (there are still more calories in a mini blizzard compared to a cup of carrot sticks however).  This PB cup Mini Blizzard was perfect size and hit the spot. Here is the download on 'nutrition' for the Mini PB cup Blizzard ( http://www.calories-nutrition.buddyslim.com/dairy-queen-blizzard-mini/ ): Mini PB Cup Blizzard
