The race in San Francisco is coming up fast! I run in the 100th Bay to Breakers a week from tomorrow. Today I participated in a race that was 5.5 miles (5.74 according to my friends gps). The course was very scenic. A very scenic run along the river. It took place near a state park along a river and it was tough! Three miles out of the 5.5 was spent running up an incline and it was killer. I'm used to running up a hill then down a hill or it tapering off at the top. It's the steady inclines that kill me. My compadres and me. After the race there was a great BBQ afterwords for the participants. The food they had: roasted pig, pulled pork, beef brisket, grilled chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, chili, green salad, pasta salad, baked ziti, coleslaw, fresh fruit salad, homemade oatmeal sugar and chocolate chip cookies, cupcakes, and soda from the local bottling company.
